Creating a Unique Look for Portofino – Lot 2

By Melissa Saliba | In-House Designer

I reported about Portofino Lot 5 a few weeks ago, and now I want to share some exciting updates about another home in the community – Lot 2.

The exterior rendering done by the architect shows off some of the fabulous exterior features of this home including cedar siding, stucco, and a natural 2’ stone veneer.

Some of the designs unique to this lot are in the dining room and great room. The dining room buffet sits right off the entry and is one of the first things you see upon entering the home. We also plan to install a floating cabinet with under cabinet lighting and a floor to ceiling island stone. Simply beautiful.

The dining room light fixture is a modern crystal chandelier that will add some elegance to the space and make the room feel more formal.

For the great room, we designed a custom stone and wood fireplace. The same stone will be used on the fireplace surround that was used in the dining room for consistency. The wood panels for the fireplace are a custom rift white oak. We have not built this fireplace detail before, so it is custom to the home!

There are similarities between Lot 5 and Lot 2 in Portofino, but as a designer, it is important for me to give each home its own unique features. I am excited to try new design ideas and see how the homes come together!
